Re: McCullum
compared with the likes of Prior, Ambrose, Haddit he is...he is a better keeper than dhonut but not as good a bat...i have him on a par with Boucher, who will retire as a great of the game.

Re: McCullum
He's a Kiwi who does slightly better than many other Kiwis. Which makes him a superstar in NZ, but that's about it.

Re: McCullum
It wasn't that long ago (if you look at it in terms of the lifetime of test cricket) that a keeper ( a real keeper) averaging 31 would be first man picked.

It's mainly in the T20 form that he is considered a star: good average and good strike rate.

Re: McCullum
I had to google to make sure McCullum wasn't some Aussie I hadn't heard about.
I think it is the manner in which plays (when he comes off) that has provided much of his reputation

Re: McCullum
He's probably talked up because he can be a very dangerous player and a matchwinner with the bat. But he doesn't do it often enough.
