Sanga hit on chest and Mendis on thigh.
Yeah, philcric . . . that's what i'm hearing on CNN . . . the thigh appears to be a bullet wound, the chest injury might "only" be shrapnel . . . .

This is terrible, thoughts to the friends and families of the deceased. Just awful. I hope there are no more deaths in this atrocity.
I echo the views of other Forummers, No-more Cricket in Pakistan until this is sorted.

Absolutely horrible new this.
I pray for SL players safety.
They couldn't protect an ex-PM like Bhutto whose security concern was well known.
So this is the 'security' Pakistan Govt is promising teams to tour Pak. So glad that Team India escaped this fate by not touring. A very good thanks delivered in personal to Sri Lankan players. So cricket is now finished in Pakistan and it is a clear indication that the state is in an absolute freefall and both the Civilian and the Military Govt is a failure and still they work at cross purposes to destabilize neighbouring countries.....

I now feel ashamed that I thought all teams should tour Pakistan. Clearly they shouldn't.

I know it's trivial and irrelevant but if it had been the Indian team that was attacked then I think a full out war would have broken out.

Pak got to understand that it has CREATED a huge problem on its hands.
Fixed!
The scary part is these Talibani zealots are technically just a half day away from India by road.

No, it would not. But now the same people would want to do something like this on IPL so that could foment war.
this is the work of Islamists clearly and they are working to justify these attacks probably by saying some rubbish like Indians did this to avenge Mumbai or some crap.

For once the Indian Govt. took a good call though the selfish greedy BCCI was still shamelessly hoping to send a team after 26/11. The ISI-Taliban nexus is itching to trigger a confrontation with India to allow withdrawing troops from the Afghan front and show their thumbs to the Americans led by Obama. Can't imagine what would have been the result if someone like Sachin or Dhoni had taken a bullet, coming ahead of a national elections. An all out war undoubtedly. Unfortunately I anticipate even more provocative terrorist attacks in the coming months aimed at achieving just the same result. Pakistan has now accelerated it's descent down to complete breakdown of the state.

Pakistani Cricket will end up in the same state as Zimbabwian cricket.
