Seems to be getting a live action reprise in Sydney over the last couple of weeks.

It's their territory. Invade it at your own risk.

Sage. I made a similar point to a guy at work today who reckons there should be shark hunting squads.

I mentioned that if someone broke into your house to drink your beer, use your dunny and watch your TV of course you'd be pissed off and try to kick them out by any means possible.

He didn't think it was an appropriate analogy.

Too farkin right. Any stoopid clod who wants to do a seal impression in his wetsuit at dawn or dusk is asking for trouble. Shocked

Where do you propose humans should live?

On the land? Isn't that ruled by other animals?

Humans already do live on the land.

Water is for entertainment.

Despite all the fuss, you're in more danger from lightning, bees and other drivers. Most sharks are no threat to humans.

Indeed. When that Avalon nong got chomped they closed half a dozen beaches ffs. They don't close the roads when someone puts his WRX around a telegraph pole

Aye, it's always best to swim at a beach where there has just been a fatal attack. The odds of two attacks occurring at the same beach are incredibly low.

I don't think there's been a fatality off a QLD beach since they started netting in 1960.

Either net or take the advice of the NT tourism authorities. The only safe place to swim is the hotel pool.

I don't think there has been a shark fatality on any netted beach in SA.
