The fact is, Fred only has 2 five wicket hauls in his entire career. Sooner or later, you have to start saying that it's partly his fault rather than bad luck etc. I think he has a tendency to bowl half a yard too short, which means he often beats the bat rather than finding the edge.

The best bowler in the World has 2 five wicket hauls in 73 tests?
No matter how many excuses people come up with, that is not good enough for the so called best bowler.

He's just bigging up the Ashes contest to come
Warne has just been the teatime interview on Sky and said similar things and bigged up KP too. It'll be all about the Ashes from now on.

Gotta love TGM. He's trying to pump up one-leg-Fred's tyres for Ashes selection. Doing his bit to try for Aus to retain them. Legend!

Re: Warne: "Flintoff is best bowler in the world"
Fred hasn't been quite the same cricketer since the 2005 ashes. Injury hasn't helped. His batting is generaly mediocre these days, and his bowling is always tidy, but he doesn't pick up enough wickets.
It's been mentioned before, but what are his stats since Ashes 2005?

Did you see the list of matches he's played and missed, through injury? Quite an eye opener when you see it in figures. You can understand what a nightmare it must be for the selectors.

Warney hasn't been quite the same commentator on everything under the sun since the 2006/7 Ashes.

Pretty average numbers in all honesty.

I don't know if you can call a bloke who isn't fit enough to cope with the workload required of a bowler in a four-man attack the best anything.
Certainly not the best all-rounder, since his batting is totally spent.
