My youngest sprog had a go at chick's cricket and showed some promise but was a blatant chucker. I worked hard with her to eliminate the chucking action but never really got there. It still amazes me how a bowler can chuck a ball with more efficiency than a legal delivery, except when it comes to off spin.

I have bowled in the nets and demonstrated how I can turn the ball much more when I ping it Chuck-style (couldn't bowl the Doosra but) than I can turn it bowling a legal offie. It's the reason I will NEVER accept that Chuck is bowling anything close to a legal delivery. As his bowling stint increases in length, he chucks it worse and worse.

Reminds me of my sons playing against a previously disadvantaged team with a previously disadvantaged offical umpire a couple of seasons back. When I questioned the "umpire" about the blatant chicking going on, he told me it was up to the batsman to call the bowler.

'Blatant chicking'?
Not even Warnie did that on the field.
