These line and length bowlers like Munaf Patel, rao, Baker, the Kiwis, Vaas, 73 mph version of Sidebottom etc have ruined cricket.

I appreciate bowlers like Steyn(who is sharp but not express) and gets the job done BETTER than any one else in the game. So you can't say that i judge bowlers purely on pace(even though its the most important ingredient)...


Even Sourav Ganguly and G Gooch are at times more accurate than super fast bowlers like Waqar...
but i know if i had a choice between Gooch and Waqar Younis....i will certainly pick Waqar.

Robbie Joseph has been playing for the Leeward Islands in the last 2 matches and has so far failed to impress after being outperformed by Lionel Baker and Gavin Tonge. Adrian Barath took a liking to him in the last FC game as he kept bowling short and wide.

Joseph's been called up by the England Lions to replace Amjad Khan.

Fair enough. Maybe he was just keeping his options open by playing for his country, but he didn't appear to be anything special.

We shall see.

In defence of continuity, Joseph was part of the "Performace Squad" that was out in India earlier in the winter. Frankly, it was a mystery why he wasn't named in the subsequent Lions squad, given that pretty much everyone else from the PS was.

Kabs? No idea. He's gone into hiding with Chris Tremlett this winter. I'm sure they'll be very happy together - wherever they are...

He's got a contract at Kent as a local player. He was never going to declare for the West Indies and give that up.

Kabby missed the end of the season due to a stress fracture. Tremlett probably has dandruff.

Yeah, why not? This winter couldn't be much more of a write-off if it tried.

Might as well throw in some Danish trundler for a laugh.

I love a bit of pace. But not to the degree PP loves a bit of pace. Have a look at his post - I mentioned that Stuart Meaker was clocked at 96mph and he demanded his instant selection for England.

Didn't ask if he was any good or even if he'd made his FC debut yet.

I had no choice but to rebuke him. Even if it damaged my credibility to do so, I had a duty to this board.

(And I might have revised my opinion on the value of pace after experiencing the soul-destroying trudgery of the most unenjoyable Test match I have ever seen...)

He only got he excited because he heard he was from Surrey. Understandable really.
