Re: Amjad Khan > Saj Mahmood
That's the way they went in India before Christmas in the ODIs - although they ended up calling them both into the squad eventually. So it just means they're sticking to that pecking order.
Don't know what they see in him, personally, but someone's got the horn for him.

Re: Amjad Khan > Saj Mahmood
what happened to Liam Plunkett?
serious question
Who is the FASTEST bowler in CC who has NOT played test cricket yet?....because bowling SR seems to be one of ENG's biggest problems

Well, you'll like Khan as he - allegedly - can bowl at 90mph (although I've never seen him clock more than about 86mph).
Robbie Joseph has some heat. Late 80s, early 90s.
Stuart Meaker has gained mythical status as a young quick who, it's claimed, clocked 96mph in an ECB speed test fairly recently.
Try not to spray your shorts.

What the hell then?
get him on the plane!
a 96 mph bowler at Barbados....wow!
Line and length stuff just hasn't worked. There is nothing to lose by taking a chance.

Don't know. He only made his FC debut for Surrey in the final game of last season.
Suspect we'll know more about him next summer when he breaks into the first XI on a more regular basis.

Oh, get over your pace fixation. It's weird and unhealthy.
Nancy Wayward used to bowl at 94 mph and he was utter bilge.
Pace is no guarantee of success or even an indicator of quality. It just gets fanboys into a froth in the absence of any pictures of boobies.

whatever bro...
Wayward and M Sami are simply exceptions that prove the rule...even though M Sami was quite good in 2003 ish when he was FAST but then he slowed down and starting bowling 135-138 kph rubbish....

Re: Amjad Khan > Saj Mahmood
Faisal,
When will you get over this this obsession? There have been so many fast bowlers, successful ones, who never bowled a ball over 90 m. And there have been many unsuccessful ones who clocked over 90m. Bowling is an art which has much more to do than only pace.
Pace is just one of the ingredients, and it need not be necessarily over 90 miles.
