Apparently the Kiwi journo's as well as pi$$ing off poms by declaring they had a bye to the final, were holding up 4 fingers to their Aussie counterparts and mouthing '4 more years'

Clever boys!

Amazing how the Kiwi journalists were so prepared to predict their own team's demise. Clever indeed!

I find it hard to believe that despite their proven track record as chokers over the years, the Kiwi's still managed to be complacent. Who knows what they were thinking. "We've gottem covered cuz...It's fully sick, ey!"

Have to say that O'Neill's and Kiwi journos' arrogance has been suitably punished. Well done to the English and the French.

Just the uber-arrogance of the 'no nonsense' Aussie team at the press conference beforehand made the victory doubly sweet. What a bunch of cnuts.

I feel for the guys whose last chance to win a world cup has come and gone. But when I think of some of the ridiculous pre-match guff, which came spewing out from certain quarters, all I can say is HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA

Well, even a number of the younger players may be giving up the chance to play in another one by taking the money on offer from club rugby in England and France. Could be a tough few years for the Southern Hemisphere big three, unless the selectors back down and allow overseas-based players to represent them.

Is it wrong to feel for the Kiwis- Union's their 'thing' and they play it ever so well. They really deserve another world cup. Whatever their journos say, they're under so much pressure. France or England can lose in the semis and still feel fairly chuffed, now they've had their 'big wins' in the q/fs but NZ can lose in an epic final and still be labelled chokers.

Well, maybe after a while the expectations will drop and as a result the pressure will reduce? Obviously won't be next time as they are at home, so more pressure than ever - so they probably won't even get through their pool - but maybe one time they will go off with the "worst NZ team ever", play with more freedom and less nerves and go and win it.

It is a bit like Brazil in football's version, all the natural talent, nearly always favourites but they went 24 years without winning a World Cup.
