He's already told Lawson he can have it.

Buchanan is a smart cookie. He became the most successful coach in the history of the game purely by luck because the team he was involved with needed neither a coach, nor a captain with the kind of players they had [as most cricket fans realize post an era of retirements]. Buchanan knows he can't replicate the same success with any other team and especially one like England which is as derailed as it comes getting wrecked all over.

Think the man was exposed in BG Trophy at home in 04 and Ashes in 05.

Flanders can stick it up his arse anyway - most overrated coach in the history of cricket if you ask me.

Was fortunate to be in charge of a team that was talented enough to have been coached to success by an infant.

Was found seriously lacking in an ability to come up with anything in response to the excellent plans England had for them in the 2005 Ashes.

I'd still be looking at Moody or Whatmore myself of the more obvious candidates, though Rod Marsh would still be my first choice.

Can just see it ....
Flanders: Ok boys, boot camp, bollock naked, on the Yorkshire Moors tomorrow.
KP, Fred, Strauss, et al : F**k off.
Bell : Where do I strip off boss.

Headline news : England announce new captain and make 10 changes for the Ashes series!

Agree, Moody as the next coach.

He was all the rage a couple of years back but the Warriors have been dire under him this year and some of the youngsters who showed a lot of promise appear to have gone backwards.

For that to happen, you need an UNDIVIDED English dressing room first.....

We already have Whatmore, so you can't have him. Ha.

Weren't there plans in place for the SAfrican dude, Ford (?), to take over??

The Ford dude doesn't actually coach. He just turns up every time there's an opportunity and then goes home.

That was the conclusion Middesex came to when he ran them (into the ground).

The Ford dude doesn't actually coach. He just turns up every time there's an opportunity to bargain with his County side to blackmail them to raise his pay and then goes back to that County home.

Fixed!
