Has anyone ever thought of giving this a go?

Are there even any players with a good enough temperament to break it?

No. I only think Lara can ejaculate 400 times over a Lampard deflected goal.

Lara himself reckons Chris Gayle is the most likely (said that before Gayle's 317 as well), followed by Sehwag.

Sehwag, Gayle or one of the Lankans - Jayawardena (who got to within 26 of the record a few seasons ago against SA) and Sangakarra. Smith Maybe?
