Almost as bad as "maximum"...
Another Nickelarse favourite...
"Massive"
I reckon he must sit there wating for chances to squeeze a 'massive' in.
And not just between Brett Lee's buttocks.

Re: Almost as bad as "maximum"...
Didn't the Kiwis (eg Martin Crowe) always call them "maximums"?

Or my personal favourite, "he's smashed that out of the ground" as it sneaks over the boundary fence

Re: Almost as bad as "maximum"...
There used to be a guy who sprinkled his commentary with liberal doses of "literally". Two favourites I wrote down at the time:
Smith literally jumped six feet high to take that catch. (Wish I could have seen that!)
Amazing! He just literally hit one of Gordon's balls out of the field! (Eeeow, poor Gordon...

And then there's attempted yorker when the batsman just manages to dig it out.

We have a (football) commentator on local radio covering the Bolton games called Jack Deardon, whose tautologies are legendary amongst pedants like me.
He has substitutional changes, interval breaks, debateable talking points, blind referees that can't see, and promotional advertizing..
Probably more, but they're my favourites.
