Re: Jayawardene to step down
Thats absolutely unexpected news. His poor batting form in ODIs must've been the major reason for him to step down.
So who'll take over? Dilshan?

Re: Jayawardene to step down
I'm surprised too.
"Jayawardene took over the captaincy from Marvan Atapattu for the 2006 tour of England and one of his best achievements was guiding Sri Lanka to the World Cup final the following year. Sri Lanka's away record improved under his leadership, as the team drew Test series in England, New Zealand and the West Indies. He led the team in 26 Tests, winning 15 and losing seven and his win ratio of 62.5% is the highest for any Sri Lankan captain in history. "

Re: Jayawardene to step down
Strange decision. Doesn't he see himself playing in the '11 WC?
Dilshan was hyper-ventilating when he got the chance in the T20. Don't think the rest of the squad will be too happy with him as captain. Also the idiot didn't complete Sanath's quota of overs.
