fleaswatch

Post by horace on Tue 30 Dec 2008, 12:51

I thought a benchmark for fleas at the start of this series was to average 40+ and to not drop too many catches..at the mo he has an average of 47.25 and I can't recall any dropped chances...so all in all he is exceeding the benchmark ...I am at serious danger of being (happily) proved wrong!

New Years Resolution Horrie? Accept decent batting when a Wozzie comes to the Crease?

Or is it something about Kattich you personally dislike?

don't know fleas and have no personal like or dislike about him...however he failed dismally in the 05 ashes and was rightly consigned to the outbox..

since his return he was instrumental (through negative batting) in draws in the windies and Banindia...the latter draw in the first test changed the momentum of that series...

he absolutely crabbed along and refused to chase runs when we were in a dominant position...his negativity allowed Khan and various other nabobs and nawabs to claim we were playing for a draw.

His technique against the seaming and swinging ball is not persuasive and i expect even the pomgolian hack bowlers will look forward to bowling to him in the 09 series

He got a crap LBW decision at Trent Bridge off Dar that you could see was not out from the top right-hand corner of the Radcliffe Road Stand when another half hour's batting might just have swung that Test.

However, Horrie's probably right. Taking his 2005 performance as a whole I think most English bowlers and English fans would like to see him in the starting lineup next summer.

He should never be considered for ODI cricket though. Never ever.

Jeepers, horace! Where do I start? columbo

The short of it is, I find him compelling to watch - he has a style I really like.

I've been a huge fan since watching him bat in the 2004 Sydney test. Thought at the time he would go on to become one of the greats of the game. But then Ponting became captain No

I'm absolutely stoked he's back in the team cheers
