Personal rights, South African edition...

Post by mynah on Tue 11 Nov 2008, 22:38

The government keep giving vague answers when asked if any Zim-style land grabs could be expected in South Africa. Well, if you take into consideration just what the politicians are willing to expropriate by force, we'd better worry...

Eeeeeoooouuuch!!! affraid

When Mbalula realised what was about to happen he put up such a fight
that Nqabeni lost his cellphone in the mayhem as Mbalula tried to make
a dash for it. He was overpowered by his fellow comrades, who where at
the scene.
"Laa ntwana (that boy) was not informed about the circumcision.
But now he has accepted what has happened. He is going to graduate and
become a man and he is looking forward to that," said Nqabeni.

I should think even a former ANCYL president has enough brains to "accept" his fate when it is explained to him by a man who has a sharp knife in one hand and his most precious asset in the other... lol!

Land grabs can work. But if only in a spirit of cooperation which is about as likely in Africa as a virgin birth.

I'd say "grabs" and "spirit of cooperation" are pretty much mutually exclusive. Having just spent my life savings (and owing more) on a little patch with my first home on it, I would certainly not feel much more cooperative than Mr Mbalula had if the Government took a fancy to it.
