McGrath followed his perfect test retirement up with the World Cup. The pig molesting git.

Alec Stewart. After the 'Perfect Test', Tres' 219, Thorpey's brill comeback, Giles taking a key wicket, Freddie and Harmy, and the classic robot-like Bob Willis statement: "there may be some moisture...around the eye area." I eventually realised that he meant that Stewie may have had a tear in his eye.

I did anyway. Especially since I'd clearly foreseen the future, and it was going to be Sussex via an eventually disappointing Gerisn't. No more bat twiddling, no more crazy old man stance, no more 'gerroldovit!', no more tennis forehands off of Brett Lee. Gutted.

Alan MacGilvray's commentary farewell was pretty grouse too - it was announced at the ground and the players, umpires and spectators all turned to give him a standing ovation.

John Arlott's last commentary in the Centenary test in 1980 also stands out for the same reason.

Yep Ganguly had an almost perfect farewell something that narrow minded loony Dilipji could not even fathom about. Ganguly has the new selection committee to thank for this.

I thought Hicky's exit was an anticlimax - he was injured for his final two games, and he deserved a send-off from the faithful at New Road - as it was, the ground was flooded so he played his final game at Kidderminster.

Oh was it at Kidderminster? Didnt realise... im pretty sure i was watching, which is quite embarrassing.

They gave him a good send off though.

It was sort of fitting that he should have played his last game at Kiddy. as he played club cricket for them before he joined Worcestershire.
