Oz tour players - reputations enhanced/trashed

katich - lost 1st test for Oz through his negative batting...some redemption but little future..rep as a mediocre player confirmed
MTB - gunned 4 times in the series but unconvincing in his other knocks...time to retire
Ponting - had the odd good knock but captained in average koala template manner...badly let down by bowlers and and fellow bats..rep tarnished
Clarke - a very poor series and should not be cnsidered an auto selection..rep trashed
Hussey - Oz best bat...rep enhanced
Watson - surprising find of the sseries...bowled well at times but batting rfell away...rep enhanced
Haddit - 1st Oz keeper in llivng memory who really needed a backstop...missed chances and gave up too many byes...last dismal dismissal of Mishra typified his efforts with the bat...outclassed and never to play again under a baggy green
MYTYT - should never have been selected as prime spin option...bowled poory and did not deserve place as spinner..batted with an application lacking in the top order.
Bung - 8@ 60+ typifies this overhyped bowlerr...card should be permanently marked...bowled without vigour and effort and took too much time adjusting his threads prior to each delivery
subi clark - 2 wickets...may have been nijued but failed to flatter...first real failure in his career and unfairly blamed by the media
Midge - honest tryer..our best performer with the ball who never stopped trying...wil have lave learned a lot esp if he avoided downloading with the intractable weet bix man.
Crazy - 12 wickets at a gazillion...too early to make a judgement on long term future but rep was enhanced...did not stop having a go.
Vicious - outbowled subi and bung...not theat there is real credit in that...impressed with consistent effort in trying conditions in his one match

Johnson desperately needs to spend some time with Wasim Akram. That seam position is one of the worst that i have ever seen...thankfully he is quite sharp so that allows him to pick some wickets here and there.

Players who performed well(ish)- Watson, Katich, Hussey, Johnson, Krejza

Players who were average- Ponting (Purely his batting....Not gonna mention his captaincy), Clarke, Hayden, Siddle, White, Clark (At least he kept it tight).

Players who were downright poor- Lee, Haddin.

A fair summation, h, except your predictable slagging of Fleas. 349 runs at 49.85 (1 ton, 2 x 50s and a start in every innings) to be our 2nd best bat by the length of the straight hardly deserves "rep as a mediocre player confirmed".

If that were the yardstick to drop someone after a poor series - Dravid, Ganguly, Sachin, and Laxman would not have played this series after collectively bombing in Lanka. Heck they would not have been in the World Cup Finalist team in 2003 following a similiar flopshow in NZ end of 2002. I thin the disappointment over Pup could be because he was supposed to be your best bet against spin. Did get a 100 in at least and helped avoid a 3-0 thrashing.

Hussey is looking more like Waugh Sr. the way he holds the middle order together. He should be batting a place up I think. He is playing in a manner that Dravid was at his peak as a bat.
