Re: Are Indians the new Seppos?
To put it into context Nagpur has a population of 2.42 Mil. Delhi is about 14 Mill, bigger than Madras. The lack of crowds has got nothing to do with the size of the centre more due to the influence of the shorter versions and people Also the Aura of the Australian team has waned. Nowadays India is struggling to put bums on seats even against the so called arch enemy Pakistan.
Cannot compare India and Australia. In the case of Kolkatta it has a population comparable to the entire population of Australia.
In the sizties and seveties there were only 5-6 test centres now there are plenty more and they are all packed to the rafters for ODIs and T-20s of late.

Re: Are Indians the new Seppos?
The Delhi tickets were sold out in 2 days. I know because I tried to get in on the first day seeing the low turn-out in Mohali, and didn't get any. Nagpur had a decent crowd on Sunday, Bangalore should really be banned.
It's not as 'crazy' as it once was, but we've also got big grounds in small cities. They're not going to be sold out for a test. I'd still say the Eden and Wankhede would pack in 30k-40k+.

My town's population is 200,000ish, my county's population is about 500,000. There was still 42,000 of travelling 70 miles to watch the football team to pay at Wembley. Not much of an excuse IMO.

Who's making an excuse? It's not as crazy as it once was, it's not that bad either. Even ODIs don't sell like they used to anymore.

So why give tests to cities that don't support them.
