Imagine how well he'd have done without all these injuries.

We have Shane Watson - same injuries, ephemeral performances.

It's because of all the years of attrition. Greg Chappell has often said that an international career has 15 years in it max. due to the wear and tear on the body. Sachin started around 17, it just means he's worn out younger than most. He's had his fair of injuries but gave a lot of service before his body started breaking down. He and the Indian authorities should face reality and bring the curtain down on his illustrious career.
