Well if he goes he'd better go quick while there's stuff still standing to look at.

Mind you I thought it was bad enough in the eighties when you ran the risk of a couple of years in a third world slammer for taking a picture of a post office. He'll probably get there and find that everything including old 1000 year old crusader forts have been reclassified as "military instillations" and off limits.

Snigger at the thought of horrie bringing up his 2000th birthday in a Paki slammer.

Aye. I took a few photos of the Lubyanka when I visited Moscow in 2006. Wouldn't have been game even 20 years ago.

Mind you, my hair seems to be falling out since I visited.

Been close myself a few times, but it was only Africa and you could almost guarantee back then of whoever railroaded you being out of power the next day.

But I know one of the most respected journalists in the country. A guy who covered the fall of the Iron Curtain as it happened, Yugoslavia, Rwanda et al. Gay as but no pussy. His stories of three weeks in a Syrian slammer would turn you off travel to anywhere but Coffs Harbour forever.

My first wife lived in Coffs Harbour until recently. Would rather have gone to a Syrian slammer than anywhere near that bitch.

You've obviously never met her...

Love's grand, divorce is a hundred grand. Best six figure sum I ever spent.

You should've taken the Neddy Smith option complete with washing machine and 500 feet of water.

I lived in hope that I'd get a chance to have my brakes fail.

He'll be fine. The Taliban have probably got his card marked as "don't go near the curmudgeonly old bastard".
