Fast deck at Bangalore for the first test against Australia?
Indian pitch expected to be quick and ripe for bouncers
Looks like history will repeat itself all over again in 2008. This was the ripe time to exploit the lack of quality spinner in Australia's squad and what does India do? It serves a fast and bouncy track for the visitors to exploit. This might drive all the plans of hosts awry as they'll have to choose three seamers in the final XI. Who will that third seamer be and which spinner will sit out?
Or will India go with two seamers and two spinners on this kind of track too?

A quick pitch will suit India, imo. Look how crap they did at Melbourne, and how well they did at Perth. The notion that India struggles on quick bouncy pitches is a stereotype that lost any connection to fact 5 years ago.

My point was something else.
Australia lacks quality spinner while India doesn't. Australian quicks are superior to Indians and there is no doubt about that.
Many of Australian batsmen will play test for the first time in India and what is the kind of pitch which can make them struggle? Obviously the one which is different from that of Australia.
In the above scenario, which kind of pitch shouyd India have gone for? Not the pacy and bouncy certainly? But they go exactly for that.

You don't need a quality spinner to be successful in India

Of course! If pitches like Nagpur 2004 or Ahmadabad 2008 are rolled out, you won't even need a spinner to succeed here. But if pitches like Mumbai 2004 or Kanpur 2008 are rolled out, you'll not only need quality spinner but good batsmen of spin bowling in your rank as well to win.

Chandan by common consensus SA has never had a quality spinner. Check out our record in India.

I know that Taips. But Nicky Boje had a superb tour in 2000 when Indian team was in turmoil. In 2004 you lost the series and this year the green track at Ahmadabad made you win another test.

And got ripped off by a shocker of a track in the last test.
Are you promoting the use of dustbowls?

Not exactly Taipan. I am all for a spinners track. Not an underprepared track like that of Kanpur but a track which heavily aids spin bowling like the Chennai track (traditional, not the flat pancake which was offered earlier this year).

Heavily favours spin = dust bowl in my eyes.

The beauty of playing a test series in SA England and Australia is the consistent variety of the pitches/grounds weather permitting of course. Each ground has something consistently special in these countries.
How about a run down on your venues I personally would like a current assessment?
Factor in rolling out if necessary.

That is because you have not seen such tracks.
Just check the scores of Chennai track. It has the second tied test, a test which Pakistan won by 12 runs in '99, a test which Australia lost heavily in'98, a test which was a thriller till the last over and India won against Australia in '01 by 2 wickets, then another test which had all the makings of a classic in '04 against Australia but the final day was wiped out by rain. This is a fantastic ground where bowlers like Wasim, McGrath, Saqlain, Kumble and Bhajji have been quite successful.
Unfortunately, it could not get as much sun this year due to unseasonal rains and hence turned into a flat pancake against SA.

In my view no pitch should favour spin from day 1.
