Wall Street opens in half an hour or so...

I'm watching Lateline at the moment - there is a "debate" on the bailout where one right wing freak from some organisation called Euro Pacific Capital is going head to head with a more reasonable commentator. It's a bit like watching Fox News to be honest and beneath the ABC.

One of the worst things about the current financial crisis is that it comes just as the world stands on the precipice of a climate disaster which will cost trillions to fix and we now can't afford.

The old bald guy supporting the bailout definitely seemed more reasonable.

The guy with hair fitted Leo's description (from the other financial thread) of someone who was "crazy".

Perhaps we'll end up starting a heap of state-run green technology programs as a means of spending our way out of the depression.

Shares here generally closed somewhat higher than yesterday afternoon.

FTSE and Wall Street done good overnight.

Profit taking skulls ... so bloody predictable.
The calm before the storm ... the black hole ain't gone away just yet - unless of course sanity has returned to the sharks ... something I very much doubt mate!

Nice bounce today but it will be temporary with all these Euro banks falling like flies at the moment.
