This is all getting a little out of hand!
Thunderqunt Modi - Gobbing off again!!!
"We are going ahead with the tournament whether England joins up or not, "Modi said. "South Africa and Australia are fully on board with the various rules and regulations but the ECB is being unreasonable and continues to have objections to issues like the shareholding pattern and the governing structure.
WTF?? They'd get screwed in the courts if they didn't have their stance. If its a 4 member tourny then surely the shareholding should be fairly equal right??
As for all these Champions Leagues popping up all over the place, its ripping the heart out of the game, and will well and truley fark the game of cricket over the next few years! Boom and Bust, I can see it coming.
And all because of greed!!!!

I am amazed that both the Aussie and Saffa boards are happy to agree to the rules and regulations on the IPL teams getting players first?
It just seems ridiculous considering those boards hold their International/Domestic Contracts?
Farking S0ftc0cks!

if the money brought in by each country was equal, yes. esp since its a purely for-profit venture
supposedly teams from pakistan, sl, wi and nz are in the fray

I just wish the ECB/BBCI would stop their sh!tfest....
The ECB should compromise and just send Middlesex this year and the BCCI should compromise and allow any team to participate next year so long as they don't feature ICL players.
The ECB aren't happy with BCCI having
50% stakeholding
IPL teams having pick of players in conflicts
IPL teams being allowed the 4 overseas players

Agree with TO on the stakeholding situation - if one country is pumping in shedloads of cash then to my mind thats fair enough.
Can't agree with the IPL teams getting unfair advantages over the other sides though. There needs to be a common set of rules. You can't have a team with 4 overseas players playing a team with none!

Fairly equal TO. I am not about to suggest a 25% split.
However 50% I believe is a little too much personally. To be honest though I'm not to fussed about the shareholding, its the stance on players I find ridiculous!

Rumour has it that Modi is pissed that the ECB have jumped into bed with Stanford.
The ECB are complete muppets to have let news of the possible Dubai tournament they wanted to arrange. Only likely to piss the BCI off more.
SA & Aus have been total softcOcks though as you say Chas... who are the ECB going to get to play in this alternative league?
It's mildly amusing to see David Collier have to beg to be included in talks for Modi's Champions league - he's always struck me as being a bit captain mainwaring!

Let the farkers get on with it I say.Stanford fancies a bit of the action, and probably has more clout than a couple of bollywood actors.
I expect SA and AUS to come running back with their tails between their legs at some point.
I couldn't care less who runs thi poxy league, its the fact that it causing so much disruption and bullsheet to go on in cricklet.

Have to admit I was gob-smacked that they leaked this out.
It was a gold mine in the making - yet they treated it like a rod with which to try and beat down the BCCI.
I sometimes wonder whether the ECB areeither extremely smart (I doubt that very much) or else, more likely, brain dead
when it comes to protecting the interests of the game here in the UK rather than making waves overseas.
I think with Aus and SA, IMO it is simply that they haven't yet grasped the enormity of the T20 franchise possibilities.
Once they do, watch out for the additional carve up.
Right now they're leaving it to others to 'sort-it' ...

It doesn't mean anything. But ban them anyway...

i think india and england are the only two countries with the money, and in england's case an added advantage of the season, to pull off something like the ipl or coming near it
seems basically both sides are not willing to budge on most issues so england has gone ahead with the rival plan. if the english domestic audience is big enough for their league to be a huge success with large financial incentives for players then they have a working model. if they are depending on indian sponsors to make money they may be on a losing path if they cross swords with the bcci

Not sure they can TO.
Alot of the ICL players are Kolpaks on long term deals. Which means this may not be an option for 3 or 4 years time.
Its not the ECB's stance that is the issue. Its the fact that the Courts ruled against them so they are bound by Law as I understand it.
