What can be said about Cricket players in comparison...
with other Sportsmen and Women.
It seems, especially in this day and age that Cricket players travel to places which show as being quite hostile, due to individual events and countrywide conflicts. It also means they have to stay in these places for much longer times because of the time length of a particular cricket match (bar T20).
The point of this is basically, Is Cricket the most Dangerous Sport in the World?
Taking into account the physical strain of such sports as AFL, Rugby and Tudor Football, while Cricket doesn't go to these lengths of human destruction, it does have it's respective aspect of physical domination on the human body.
Another point is, Are Cricketers much more Braver than other sporting athletes? Would we ever catch Footballers or Rugby players playing in difficult venues nowadays?

Now you're being silly.
I'd say being a rugby player and playing an away game against PNG. could get eaten alive...

Given the length of tours in years gone by, and the amount of cricket played on them, cricketers today are soft.
