Security. A cricket board is no position to judge "human rights".

I don't really remember though.

long on odds on Oz and snoozie participation...Tim May wants a strong say...highly probable that many other teams outside the subi will opt out.

I hope Australia sends a team. If individual players decide they don't want to go, then fine. Can we borrow Darren Pattinson if the Poms don't want him?

Aren't we better off sending players who we want NTPFAA. That way, if there is a terrorist bomb there will be an upside.

We want PAttinson playing in the next Ashes so he can't go.

South Australia would be more warranted. They're crap and nobody cares about them.

We need someone to despise in cricket.

OK, looks like I may have been hasty in saying teams won't pull out...

No online link yet, it's a 'statement' from the Aus Cricketers Assoc that's been emailed on to me.
ACA maintains recommendation that risks are too great to tour Pakistan at this time

In response to the ICC board meeting overnight and the subsequent decision to hold the Champions Trophy in Pakistan, Australian Cricketers’ Association (ACA) Chief Executive Paul Marsh made the following statement earlier today:

"The ACA continues to have serious concerns with our players touring Pakistan for the Champions Trophy and we are disappointed with the ICC’s decision,” Marsh said.

“We are seeking clarity on the purpose and role of the proposed task force, so we are unable to comment on it at this stage.

“Based on the independent information and advice received, we maintain that the risks are simply too great for the ACA to recommend that our players tour Pakistan at this time.

“We would expect Cricket Australia to adopt the same position,” he said.

“The ICC Champions Trophy is one of cricket’s premier events.

“If it continues in Pakistan at this volatile time, unfortunately many of the world’s best players won’t participate, which is not a good outcome for cricket, Marsh concluded."

How long since there's been a players' strike in cricket?

doubt it will come down to that....a DFAT mild travel advisory will suffice for the ACB...the recent bombing of the danish commission in Islamabad that also took out some people attached to an NGO outfit will have not helped confidence

Several? I think some squads will be practically unrecognisable.

Might not be a bad thing.

Give the likes of Bresnan a run out...

Like Zat, I don't think there will be a pull out but individuals will be able to opt out.
