How far is Harmison from a call up?
Seems a strange point that Flintoff and Jones have merely to prove their fitness to get back into the England side. Harmi meanwhile is pretty much the best bowler in the county game so far this season. When he lost his mojo he deserved his dropping but he's playing well now - so what has he got to do?

Are you suggesting he needs a spell in the army?

Basically, he's still bowling that mid-80's dump that's the reason he was out of the side.

TE, refer to the forum glossary, under PHS. Possibly this trait has been noticed at high level.

I think Simon Jones would dispute the best bowler in the county game stuff - he's taken about as many wickets for about half the cost.
I think the reports are that he's still littering his spells with lots of short, legside filth.
With the form of Anderson and Sidebottom, plus Broad's batting then he'd need a couple of 10 wicket hauls in the next two county games to get his name back in the reckoning.

Listened to a bit of the Yorks/Durham game and he was bowling a lot of filth down legside it has to be said...

In county cricket you can get away with bowling 20% snorters and 80% pies. Because basically most county batsmen aren't good enough to deal with Harmison's pace and bounce. In international cricket where it is more common (though there are still very few with the same pace and bounce) he has to get it at least 70% right, or he's gonna get mullered.

Interesting to see the words "Far" & "Call" in the thread title.
Did you know if you combine these words you get "Callfar"?

Noice. Glad to hear it. Don't care if he's wayward. Just care about the pace. Go mad! Get Jonah, Hoggy, Fred and GBH back, f*ck monty off and whack in Sibo. Wicked.

If we're reuniting the dream team, I'm sure Gilo's still good for ten overs of shite and a battling 20.

You can see us getting twatted by the Saffer pacers and then trying to return fire with our medium dibblys (not that I think pace is everything)
If we get massacred Windian 1980's style, I can definitely see at least 3 of the 4 back...
