The political situation is the main reason Zimbabwe have gone from being a competetive, spirited outfit in the mid to late 90's, to an absolute pile of shite.
All of the ICC's talk in the past about how politics and sport shouldn't mix was absolute rubbish as it was the political situation that caused the likes of the Flower brothers and Heath Streak to bail in the first place. So like it or not, the ICC should have accepted that sport and politics had mixed.
Quite right.
However, by removing the politics of the situation, it gives the gimps at the BCCI even less of a leg to stand on with regards to keeping them in as a full member, purely on the fact they are cr@p!

Loads of them are having to give up cricket and just start hussling. India won't be helping f*ck all bar themselves - by gaining another vote and nothing else. They have nothing like the best interests of Zimbabwean Cricket in their minds.
Aye, $11 mill the ZC got from the last world cup, and the players get £6 a month. Wonder where all the cash went??
Oh hang on, isn't it in the British Virgin Islands or somewhere now, earning interest?
But thats ok, as long as the BCCI gets its extra vote round the table.
However, I just wish some of the other boards had the balls to stand up to this situtaion. SA and Eng only did because of their Governments, the Aussies and Kiwi's may follow, but the Bloc will be lapdogs to the BCCI as usual.

Like I said, no one will play them bar the Asian bloc. And even they wont want to play Zimbabwe much, as an India v Zimbabwe 5 match ODI series is hardly a ratings winner.

Yes we do Trev ... very much so.
When they feel like it, they are meant to be part of the one unit that governs cricket - the ICC.
To show a disregard for both the common disgust at the conditions in Zim coupled to a total dismissal
of the approach other Boards are adopting to counter such a flagrent abuse of human rights ,
especially now that the SAF Board have condemned Zim, sends out all the wrong messages.
The basic message from the BCCI reads - we don't really give a f**k about human rights in Zimbabwe -
we just need their vote of support when we demand it.

I think the BCCI is taking a principled, measured reaction to this issue and by supporting Zimbabwe has confirmed that it is once again ready to dauntlessly take on the world in the face of almost overwhelming opposition.
Go BCCI! Zimbabwe is a nation in crisis because of the apathy of the Western world. In fact all the problems in Zim are because of the western world. Mugabe is a great man!
I love how forummers are getting pi$$ed. Hypocrites, since their forefathers were responsible for the whole mess. Sooks!
OTOH, the BCCI should really tell Mugabe to f*ck himself and , if it doesn't ,it is an utter disgrace and an insult to India.
