Maybe Mugumbo could retire from Zimbok politics and invest his money and expertise with the BCCI. After all, they don't seem to have any problem with him.

Worse still, Morgan Tsangarai (?) is now quoted as saying (DT Saturday) that "it is time we worked with the old man to find a peaceful solution for the future of Zimbabwe."
WTF does this mean?
The leader of the MDC using softly-softly platitudes in order to gain Red Robbo's gratitude and pleasure -
this in the face of the thousands of MDC supporters who have given their lives for the cause?
Morgan's beginning to remind me of a guy called Gordon ... someone who'd sell his soul to become the leader!

Well unsurprisingly, Pakistan has taken India's side.
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/cricket/7480812.stm
And.....How's this for a quote- "There is no reason to remove Zimbabwe," said Niranjan Shah, secretary of the Board of Control for Cricket in India.
He'd definetly get a job as a ZANU PF spokesman if the whole BCCI powerbroker thing falls through. What a c*nt. I used to have a bit of respect for the BCCI and thought that one of the main reasons they were disliked was because they simply have so much money and power (Which is hardly a crime in itself), but it's clear that they completely lack morals, and should be labelled as a disgrace by the English, Australian, and New Zealand governments.
For Sri Lanka, Bangladesh and Pakistan it's like this- Disagree with India, and lose the substantial funds that they provide them with each year. The BCCI is basically keeping Sri Lankan cricket afloat financially atm.

I doubt even their standards are as low. The man's a complete idiot. He gives quotes like these every interview, it's uncanny.

Re: India back Zimbots
When the Kenyan PM FFS starts talking Mugumbo down, it's surprising.
The US is circulating a resolution at the UN Security Council, calling for an arms embargo, travel bans, and other measures against Zimbabwe.
Would travel bans mean their cricket team wouldn't be able to get out? Or that visiting teams wouldn't be able to get in?

But Traicos is missing the point- THE ICC CAN'T DO ANYTHING to help Zimbabwe cricket, because any money they provide goes straight into the coffers of Mugabe and his cronies. This will be even more the case as their alternative sources of income start to dwindle due to sanctions/freezing of assets etc.
Zimbabwean cricket and the money the ICC provides it is just another source of income for Mugabe and co. Nothing more, nothing less. They couldn't give a f*ck about the players.

letting zim cricket survive would be helping them. if there is an open-ended ban depending on mugabe being replaced it could spell the death of zimbabwe cricket. opens up a can of worms as well if sporting bodies impose bans without a worldwide political movement for the same

Impose a ban and cut off funding for the next 2 years regardless of if and when Mugabe is overthrown, and then re-assess the situation after that.

that pretty much kills zim cricket innit? has zim been banned by any other sporting body? is anyone else even discussing it? why is cricket so obsessed with unilaterally mixing politics and sports only in the case of zimbabwe? or a few nations at least
