Did Dale Steyn look for an Aussie crowd to blame this on?

Post by Zat on Fri Jun 20, 2008 10:08 am

From link

Dale Steyn has called himself an 'idiot' for the comments he made about the Indian Premier League a few days ago.

Steyn said that "the IPL was only four overs a game and it was like a paid holiday; you only had to work hard if you felt like it, which is probably why we finished second-last."

He's apologised now
"I have written to the franchise to express my unreserved regret and apologies and tried to explain the circumstances of my comments. Sometimes, when you lose, you try to make a joke of it to lessen the disappointment. It was a stupid thing to say and a painful lesson for me to learn."

But maybe the truth is tarting to come out. It's sod-all work for more money than God. Good luck to them, take it while it lasts. One day, the Shoe Event Horizon will arrive.

So originally he said...

'Geez mate, those crazies are giving me a shedload of cash for not much'

and now he's saying...

'Oh noes, now they might not give me a shedload of cash next year for not much, what a dunce i've been'

He was so lachrymose at the time he probably really couldn't control what he saying.

Undoubtedly a Freudian slip though.

I don't think Mallya will drop him because of that slip though!
