Counties free to pick ICL players
Can someone clarify this - would ICL players be allowed to play in the Chumpions league thingy or not?

Seems full of contradictions to me...

Re: Counties free to pick ICL players
not really. they havent decided whether teams with icl players will be allowed in the champions league, and counties who pick these players are now doing so at their own risk. he's saying he cant make the decisions for the counties

Re: Counties free to pick ICL players
They would be better off not inviting any English teams in that case to be honest.
There is simply no way an English county who has played an ICL player in the domestic T20 would dare to drop them from this tournament.
The county concerned would open themselves up for the player suing them for restraint of trade. They are sh*t scared of this, which is why all those ICL players are allowed to play here.
I hope common sense prevails and that ICL players are given an amnesty for the first ICL tournament. Especially considering the English domestic T20 started without any rules for ICL participation drawn up.

I want to see this thing go to the court and hope that ALL the ICL players get unbanned.

Re: Counties free to pick ICL players
Reading it, he says that the BCCI cannot tell counties who they can and can't pick.
HOWEVER:
He also says that for the Champions League they haven't decided what they are doing with the ICL players and will decide later. Couple that comment with the thunderqunt Modi's comments = shambles!!

Not least because I didn't take your bet that Modi would definitely get his own way.

Re: Counties free to pick ICL players
The latest from the BCCI is that the English clubs will be excluded because of their ICL players.

Looks like TQ Modi will get his own way and I will win the bet.
And I'm yet to see anything that contradicts that statement.from the cricinfo article linked to above...
Lalit Modi, the IPL chairman and commissioner, had previously told Cricinfo that teams with players associated with ICL would not be invited for the tournament "under any circumstance", even if these players are dropped just for the event.
