What's the big deal with them?
I see that McDonalds have even replaced their Crunchy DeLux McFlurry with the Oreo one

Hmmm, yes - this divides counties. I'd go for 'biscuit' just as I'd say Oreos are biscuits. Generic.

Biscuits just don't have sponge in them. Simple as that.
