why would he be playing odis now if he wasnt looking at playing till 2011? 2011 will certainly be his odi swansong. wish he could play tests forever, but that too will come to an end sometime around 2011. hopefully against aus or pak in bombay as his final test match

he even refused to say the last aus tour would be his last test match there. since india tour next in dec 2011 one can only hope he's right. a home series vs pak after that as scheduled would make for a great last lap

I think its good that he is not the part of Indian team for next two mindless ODI series India is playing in. Thats one way of prolonging his career.

Tendulkar seems to be batting as well as ever. (Although a bit more defensive). He could go on for quite a while I think.

Jayawardene is young enough to end up ahead of Lara's tally might well be in the top 5 by the tme he retires
