Yeah Wilson is too important a character, if anything he is more involved in the show than ever.

Chase on the other hand is dispensible, plus I am sure the young Australian actor might want to try something else in his acting career.

Done some internet spoiler searching and the concensus seems to be that it's Lawrence ("Harold and Kumar") Kutner who takes his own life. The concensus is mainly from Twitter jibber.
