Different formats of cricket

Post by Zat on Tue 27 May 2008, 14:31

Here's an interesting one from the WSC days, the 3-day limited-over match.

Each first innings limited to 40 overs, each second innings to 75.

Some scorecards can be found by following these links:

Rockhampton
Canberra
Geelong
Hamilton

Sadly - Hookes, Barlow and Woolmer are no longer with us.

230 overs in 3 days? Good to see Kerry was working his employees hard.

Anyone know what the rationale behind this was? Surely 2 days with two 50-over innings would have made more sense.

The permutations are endless.

It's still got to stop raining.

BTW: When would D/L apply if that (or similar) were brought back?
