Fine director and actor. I loved his little role in 'Michael Clayton'.

Quite a shock.

He's been in several recent films, making his own a certain role of older, cynical male.

A fine career

RIP. A fine director. Loved Tootsie when I first saw it so many years ago.

Yes, that restaurant scene with Hoffman in drag still cracks. He was good in Michael Clayton, good movie. Wasn't he also in 'eyes wide open'?

Sydney obviously didn't take Yul Brynner's advice.

Sad

I probably enjoyed 'Out of Africa' best, of his films.
