Clearly, your memory is selective to suit your own repression. I didn't bath with my brothers beyond the age of about 7 (as other correctly pointed out - to save water). A family of 5 (I am the eldest of 3 boys) did share the one bathroom and it was not uncommon to see each other naked. I dunno if it's an Aus thing or what, but it's not uncommon to see blokes you play football and cricket with get into a shower after a game (generally without clothes).
