And yet KP made mincemeat of him first up. The lad has obviously improved significantly since his early days.

He has a terrific s/r in tests. How does he compare to the young Donald, overall would you say?

Not as quick. Donald was very erratic early on

I daresay AD and Pollock will have been offering plenty of advice on that subject.

He's come on very well. We had him for a season at Essex and he was a scattergun.

In fairness, he has had a few easy series to get there. A long way to go before the hype becomes anything like the reality.

This guy is class. If he stays fit then this time next year he should easily be the best fast bowler in the world.

Thought Steyn looked awesome prospect when he took a couple of 'crackerjack' wickets when he debuted versus England. Think he'd only played 9 FC matches, or maybe even less. Was going to take a while to polish him up. His action's remarkably like Donald, but with less physicality he's half a yard or so slower. Still damn quailty.

Not relishing him, Ntini and Morkel this summer. We'll do well to win that series.
