The movie thread.

Post by Lara Lara Laughs on Tue 05 Feb 2008, 08:15

Films you've seen, films you're going to see, films you want to see, films you've enjoyed, films you've hated, Oscars stuff. All about films.

I went to see Cloverfield last night. It was slightly spoiled by going with friends who are Engineering students. They insisted on pointing out the impossibility of some of the building demolitions. But the film was really good. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed it. It's definitely a film you need to see at the cinema, rather than on DVD.

Planning to see Into the Wild, In the Valley of Elah, and American Gangster next. There's a real glut of good films out at the moment.

As I mentioned on a previous movie thread (though obviously not "the movie thread"), all the films I've seen lately have been a bit of a let-down one way or another.

I might catch "No country for old men" at some point, but frankly I'm not straining at the leash to see anything right now...

There's loads of good stuff out. Stop being a misery just because you were silly enough to go and watch Superbad and Transformers.

It's like me going to watch Derby, seeing how terrible our defending is and then sulking and refusing to watch any football.

Jesse James, NCFOM, In the valley of Elah, Into the Wild, Michael Clayton, American Gangster, There will be blood, Eastern Promises, 3:10 to Yuma, I'm not there.

They are all good or supposed to be good.

3:10 to Yuma - aye.

Jesse James - you've ruined it.

American Gangster - Aye.

Darjeeling Limited (swear it was called The Darjing Limited but hey ho there we go).

American Gangster is good. Dunno if I can be bothered to see Cloverfield. I'm hanging out for The Dark Knight, which is being released in july.

No, you're right, it is July. Don't know why I thought it was March. Perhaps something else of interest is inked in for March.

Anyway...

Iron Man looks sh*t as. Was an advert before Cloverfield. And there's some sh*t crocodile thing coming out that looks terrible.
