See Dello, this is why we need a forum gold section.

I found it a few months back - it's quite well hidden, I think. There's no hint of the depravity contained within the thread in the title.

Aye, that's why it's so hard to find. But PdMSL when I read it last time.

But how would it work? Would it just be a read-only archive or would the threads remain "live" and go on and on forever in the "sunshine lollypops" style? In which case, could their "gold" status be revoked if the thread degenerated into non-gold mediocrity?

My vote would be to lock them for posterity.

In my model (suggested in the poll) I've said they should be locked, in their pristine 'gold' state.

As an example, the 'Is it just me' thread would go in, with the post resurrection discussion removed.

It could almost be a Flaming Bails Hall of Fame.

Another fair suggestion for the name of the proposed new section.

If you're still looking for it, it was a "flaming" thread, but I don't think it was really massive - maybe as few as nine pages.

Now that I think about it, I think the title was about David Graveney. That would make sense...

Almost 100 pages of threads, not bad that you found it at all.

This thread had very unpromising beginnings (Anni talking about his cork) but I think it's where the 'forum gold' idea came from
