Not in this particular case. Ask Mikey Holding and the ICC. 45 is the new 15. shrug

Pakistan played well. The ICC have turned a blind eye to Ajmal ... hardly Pakistan's fault, no more than the weak ICC's acquiescence in the face of Muralitharan's diabolical pinging was the fault of Sri Lanka.

Pakistan's best performance ever? Must be pretty close. Knocking off the number 1 team 3-0 is a fine achievement.

The match fixing is another matter altogether ... and proven match fixers should be rubbed out of the game, regardless of their origin or profile.

Had Asif and Aamer been disciplined Pakistan would have been by far the best in the world...

Discipline had been the missing link in Pakistan cricket since the retirement of Imran, on paper this team is rubbish compare to that of the 90s yet the result over the last 18 months have been superb.

And in any event Pakistan do not have the batsmen to win in South Africa, England and Australia.

Hmm, maybe in certain conditions. You had Ajmal, Gul, Amir and Asif in 2010 and still lost.

Aye and sometimes they played like they were totally outclassed by top quality swing bowling.

But there is no top quality swing bowling around these days so clearly Pak are no 1.

Clearly you can't compare the spirit and fight shown by this team with the match fixing sides of 2009 and 2010

This team plus disciplined Aamer and Asif would have probably drawn in AUS, SA and ENG while at "home" they would have been light years ahead of these teams hence making them by far the best in the world. Even in the absence of the 2 As i reckon this team can still be competitive outside Asia, they may narrowly lose but they won't throw in the towel after one or 2 bad sessions.
