Eh?
How the hell are the two related or even remotely connected ?? scratch

There are a host of other young guns who HAVE done well in limited overs cricket who will have jumped the cab rank ahead of Belf.
The sooner England's management accept that Belf is a busted flush, the better all round.

If KP fails as an opener, there's no question that it'll be the thoroughly more deserving Alex Hales that gets the spot.

"Buttler suffers hand injury"

Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes

As soon as we get someone we like in the squad, he gets injured. He's split the webbing of his left hand so will maybe be unfit for tomorrow's warm-up match. Dread.

So it's 4-0 then.

I doubt it'd be anything but 3-0 anyway, but more likely now seeming as we'll have Ravi 'Ian Bell * 1.15' Bopara in the side.

At least he's 1.15 times better than Belf, it wouldn't matter if England had Viv Richards in the team if Bresnan and Dernbach in the OD team.

True. We can manage one, I reckon. On a good day. With big opposition mistakes.

Aye, Pakistan have to c*ck up at least once in the tour.

Is Samit for Bopara being considered?

For some reason I've got him as my number 7. Probably:

Cook
KP
Trott
Morgash
Beddy
Bopara/Buttler
Twatel
Broad
Swann
Finn
Dirtydirtyawfullyfilthybowlerbagbach

Looks okay. There's no way Samit Patel is a 10 over bowler, I'd rather they split the overs with Pietersen, a bit like Sehwag and Yuvraj quite some time ago.

TBH, I'd rather they picked Briggs. I just don't think it will happen. I think there's enough batting there to get a score. OK, it'll be a low score but...

I reckon our best team would be:

Hales
KP
Trott
Morgan
Kieswetter
Buttler
Broad
Swann
Briggs
Finn
Buck

But, obvo that'll never happen. Shame that Stokes is as gash as Hales, Bairstow, Trott and Cook at playing spin bowling, or he'd be a more than useful #7 and could share the bowling with Fatsam.

Seems a batsman short, to be honest. Stokes, once he's fully fit, could replace Buck. He is sh!t against spin from what I've seen.

Aye, they're absolutely terrible at playing spin bowling. Just weak prods or attempted hoicks.

The above team is possibly a batsman short, but seeing as we like to go at under 5 by way of Trott and Cook shouldering arms we usually finish with 3 or 4 wickets left.

On that logic, you could say "Shame that Ian Botham is so old, or he'd be a more than useful #7 etc."

Well, nehhhhhh, not really. Reason being that Stokes is the sort of player that could come in a three. He plays uppishly over cover very nicely and takes the attack to the opposition with some big shots. Coming in at seven means the batsman is facing spin more often than not.

Even that's not guaranteed though is it. Taking the India series as an example, they only finished one innings 4 down in the series. Cook needn't have a place in the team but they may need another player.
