But beams, it won't be change just for the sake of change will it ? It will be because he's done cack all with the bat for 18 months and can't even justify selection as a winning skipper if indeed we do lose to PAK and SL.

Whilst it's true tha there's no obvious replacement opener just now - by the time SA arrive the domestic season will be over half completed and it's not impossible that a batsman will be pushing hard for selection by sheer weight of runs. Considering that our batting can fall apart like a crunchie bar, I'm not convinced we can afford to carry an opener unable to buy a run against SA.

I guess you don't change the captain of a winning side, and given the last two or three years it would take a lot more than a couple of defeats in Asia to suggest this is now a losing side. OK, SL are in a bit of a mess now but it still won't be easy to go there and get a series result.

I think they will at least stick with him for the WI warm-up series, which is a good opportunity to get some form, and then assess the situation.
