Will Strauss make the SA series?
And if so, will he emulate Nasser and Vaughan?

Re: Will Strauss make the SA series?
They'll be extremely reluctant to drop him. He's probably got the rest of this series and the two tests against Sri Lanka to get a score.

I expect he will make it. Doubt he'll retire until next year sometime.

Re: Will Strauss make the SA series?
Honestly?
I think he should now consider retiring after this Pak series ...
Truth is ... he won't ... and will skipper in the SA series and make this season his swansong.

Can't see Johann going just yet - not with the alliance/bond he has with Flower.
End of this season perhaps ... he does do okay in English conditions tbf.... but time is catching up with him.

He'll stay because cricket selectors by nature are conservative.

Sooky may be in as much danger of falling on his sword as Strauss with England raging favourites for this series.

Strauss won't "fall on his sword" ...
The End.

Raging favourites?? What are you taking Red??
We haven't beaten the Saffies in England since 1998, and even that was a bit of a fluke. It's probably the most even series imaginable on paper.

Well Strauss would be the hattrick for Smith.
BTW have you ever tried AA?

Re: Will Strauss make the SA series?
Yep ... the Jaarpi series will be the toughest yet - it's bloody annoying that they can't stretch it to 5 tests ...
Not a 'given' by any stretch ...

England is #1 in the world on home soil and is a settled side.
Last time SA played England on their soil they were in a rich vein of form - 2007-8 was their golden moments of the noughties.
