Spoiler:
I'm not sure about S8. The CW has ordered a heap of pilots - all their older shows, apart from The Vampire Diairies, are hemorrhaging viewers. Maybe they'll keep SPN for another year while they usher in some new shows.

I saw this the other day and thought it was pretty good:

Season One: The one where the brothers reconnect.
Season Two: The one where HOLY sh!t DEMONS.
Season Three: The one where we try to prevent the inevitable and fail.
Season Four: The one where HOLY sh!t ANGELS.
Season Five: The one where we actually manage to prevent the inevitable.
Season Six: The one where everyone is out of character.
Season Seven: The one where everyone goes insane.
Season Eight: The one where everyone stops watching the show.

I thought the arcs for the first five seasons were really good. Even though their were lots of MOTWs, the thread of the season was woven in quite well although S5 got the wobbles a few times.

Find Dad!
Kill Yed!
Save Dean!
Kill Lillith!
Stop the apocalypse!

S6 was just a serious amount of whatthefarkery by the end, although most of the season's episodes were quite good as standalones. The idea for S7 was good - isolated Winchesters v the biggest bad - but the execution is a total failure so far. As much as it would have pained me, they really should have kept Cas on as a Leviathon. Misha's great as a crazy and there at least might have been a 'save Cas' thread running through the season which would have created more tension in the arc.

Anyway, I hate being a whinger so I'll probably only comment on the eps that I watch and like from here on in. boozin

Phurto!

Of course they can 'get a lead on Dick Roman' in terms of his presence and whereabouts... he's high profile. I suppose they meant about what's going on in that field, how to kill them etc.

Bobby said he had safe-storages all over the shop, he went and amalgamated them in a previous episode.

Sam probably didn't make the connection because Dean's a hunter and hence probs didn't think he'd f*ck a monster. What was wrong with Sam in this epi? Thought it was quite a good episode for him.

They were confused about the Bobby / ghost thing, I'm sure that'll be explained later on.

Spoiler:
I didn't really like Sam at all until S4/5. This episode he was back to S1 levels of whining. The wangst is getting old. sook

SP S07E14 - Plucky Pennywhistle's Magical Menagerie. 150% filler but harmless enough fun.

Spoiler:
Only a one line mention of Dick Roman via a phone call from Frank to Dean at a pay phone that Dean is afraid he'll catch clap from. Very Happy

A disgruntled employee at the local kid's party place (Plucky's), who is angry at being passed over for promotion as Shift Manager, is using some serious hexing to kill any parent he sees mistreating their children. The parent's death is based solely on what the kids draw on "What's your worst fear?" place-mats. So all manner of vampire octopusses, deadly rabid unicorns and land sharks are offing targeted parent folk.

The boys work it out, but Sam's fear of clowns is worked into the episode, after the employee notices how uncomfortable he is when visiting the place as part of the investigation. As Dean is about to take the employee down in the basement of Plucky's, two clowns are about to either outright kill Sam, or scare him to death.

Dean saves the day by realising that this guy has his own worst fear on his pinboard. His brother drowned years ago while swimming with him and he fears his return for revenge. Dean grabs the drawing along with a toy clown and throws it in the fire in the centre of the basement. This summons the employee's dead brother who basically makes the dude drown in front of him. The fire consumes the toy clown and just as the 2 clowns are about to gank Sam, they disappear in a cloud of sparkles.

Looks like the season arc will be sorted in about half a dozen episodes, cos it's fillerville at the moment.

I enjoyed both Supernatural and Grimm this week. I'll wait until you've seen Grimm before commenting.

SPN:

Spoiler:
Loved the call-backs to previous episodes in SPN. Laughing

Episode 2.13 Houses of the Holy

Dean: (re. Angels) Because there's no such thing, Sam.
Sam: Dean, there's ten times as much lore about angels as there is about anything else we've ever hunted.
Dean: Yeah, you know what? There's a ton of lore on unicorns too. In fact, I hear that they, they ride on silver moonbeams, and they shoot rainbows out of their ass.
Sam: Wait, there's no such thing as unicorns?

And 2.12 Nightshifter

Laser eyes!

A nothingness episode, but lots of individual fun bits.

And for something different, the epi ended without the wangsty talk by the Not Impala. Good to see Dean laughing again. cheers

Grimm S01E11 - Tarantella. Pretty good.

Spoiler:
A spider woman, a Spinitard, needs to feed on 3 young men every 5 years to retard the mortification (aging) process. She first kills a Lemur dude and then some other poor unfortunate normal guy by spewing highly acidic venom into their mouths, which liquifies their insides, which are then sucked out through the abdomen by spider-chick. She is literally sucking the lives out of them.

Turns out she is happily married to a male Spinitard and they have a Spinitard daughter. Gross, a family of spider folk.

Nick enlists Eddie's help and they visit Charlotte, a reformed 26 year old Spinitard, who looks 80. Charlotte says the girl spider lady needs to get her third victim. Nick and Hank put a tail on her.

She is ready to take her third victim on a docked cabin cruiser but Nick and Hank intervene. Nick battles her and catches her in a net. The ep ends with her looking desperate and aged in a prison cell.

During the episode we find out that the collective name for the animal folk of Portland and the wider US is Vessen. And the vessen of Portland are rapidly spreading the news that there is a Grimm amongst them. Nick and Juliet's house gets egged, and Nick goes to the house that Juliet went to in the previous ep. Turns out they are beaver folk and scared sh!tless of Nick. Nick throws his weight around as the scarey Grimm and demands that the rumours about him stop NOW. They promise to follow his orders.

This would be the appropriate place to mention that Alvin Purple is to be shown on Gem later. A movie about skully in the 70s.

I'm in Perth this weekend so I'll probably have to give this episode a miss unless I can source it from elsewhere.

Lemme know if it's worth me fussing for it. You know what I like. Laughing

Will do, sk. Haven't watched it yet but it sounds like another MotW filler.

My review should be up tonight.

Aye, a filler

Spoiler:
Sam and Dean go back to a case from four years ago when they were hunting Lilith and tortured a demon to find out information. Turns out the bloke was f*cked up. Sam's getting increasingly mental, he's going to pop soon. Reckoned it was a top episode, though, really well written.

SPN S07E15 - Repo Man. Dan's summation is pretty apt. Only minor season arc development, and nothing on the big-mouth front.

Spoiler:
I did enjoy Luci's regular appearance and annoying of Sammy. Very Happy

Spoiler:
Aye, Mark Pellegrino's portrayal as the big man is exceptional IMO... a perfect mixture of snide joviality with underlying intent. Looks like Sam's lost the plot now. Think Padalecki really plays the insane/scared/scarred thing well, too.
