Just read an intersting stat about the first test - it was the first time ever that India had lost a test where Viru, Dravid and SRT had scored 50+ in the same innings (it was the 7th time that the 3 had done it with India winning the previous 5 although one of those was when Billy Farking Bowden robbed us at Mohali).

So Haddit is ordered back to the BB to find some form. Why cannot he simply be just ordered out? In any case Marsh's BB form did not stand him in good stead for the tests.

Indeed. However, maybe they've said to Haddit "open the batting and just try to flay the bejeezus out of the ball". Worse case, he's going no worse than he already is - best case, he finds some touch.

In all of the outrage over BCCI and Team India I forgot to congratulate team Aus on their spectacular show. Congrats for winning the trophy again and it looks like revenge will be served on losing all of 4 tests in India. No one expected such a show after the kind of disarray that was supposedly reported in media. Dhoni can take lessons on how to motivate a down and out team amidst media pressure from Pup surely?

Maybe Dhoni will do a reverse Ponting who missed the series winning first 3 tests in 2004 and then came back to skipper a loss in the 4th.

Cheers V.

Interesting point by Rhino re: Dhoni's suspension. He said the game was over in 2 and a half days, so it seemed a bit harsh for the skipper to be suspended for a slow over rate. columbo

Yeah. A similar point was made on The Roar. That is, the ICC suspend the Indian for slow over rates in a game over in 4 sessions yet refuses to insist that India accept UDRS.

Collected a nice packet yesterday on the 3rd test - but didn't reinvest the dosh as the odds offered for Aus to win the 4th test were too prohibitive - 4/6 - and I dislike betting odds-on faves!

Still, 4 - 0 is on the cards based on the shambles over the past 4 days.

Gambhir is a liability still, but at least he's gone over 1,000 runs.... in the last 2.1 years. 1,122 runs @ 32.05. One ton in that time. Jokey disgrace.

The thing is that like Aus over the past 2 years, they don't really have TEST replacements ... aye, plenty of big hitting T20 specialists, but no one like the Wall who would stand his ground and sell his wicket dearly.

BanIndia really are in deep poo IMO ... coz once those middle 3 (and Sehwag) go ... they're going to flounder ... unless Felch has a miracle cure for them.
