A bit like Pot Noodle. I caned them for about a month after "discovering" them. Never again.

Wonder if Flower still likes Pot Noodles, because Borthwick got around... Flower was noting him more than you.... he even tried to go official and make Borth his 'one true note'. I reckon even now, Flower's chomping on a Chicken & Mushroom.

You and Dello were neck-and-neck in the Borthgasm stakes.

No, I noted Borthwick. That's a few rungs below having a Mudgegasm in my undercrackers at the mere mention of his name. He has been noted.

Having taken a harder look at him, he's also been given the famous Dello downgrade to potential shitmuncher on account of not giving his leg-break enough rip.

That too makes the notes.

Borthwick is in danger of becoming the next Chris Schofield. Danny Briggs is a better bet these days. I reckon he'll oust Monty soon enough as England's second spinner.

Briggs'll have to do better than 38 @ 36.55, though, won't he? There's no point in, say, creaming ones knicks because 'he's young', is there? Or will he be the #2 spinner by virtue of his batting and fielding, Fletcher-style?

38 @36.55....Is that his List A record? Meh. Has over 100 first class wickets at around 30, which is more relevant, imo. Also, his batting is merely 'Night watchman potential', and his fielding is solid without being spectacular.

No, it was his FC record last season with some not-too-bad pitches as his work tools. I'm all for the 2nd spinner being the one who is performing the best, not because he's still got bum-fluff 'pon chin.

But seeing as Swanny is safe and secure as our number 1 spinner, wouldn't it be better to get a young guy into the setup and bring him on, giving him valuable experience, rather than having the tried and tested Monty hanging around mixing the drinks tour after tour?

Considering Graeme 'That's The Way I Play' Swann has slight injury clouds above his head, I'd prefer to see Monty step into the team rather than some greenhorn with no form. If I were Hants, I'd be trying to get Briggs some winter games or sticking him in an academy - as we did with Monty, I still cannot see what taking a youngster on tour really does for them - especially as you say, to mix drinks. It's not like 1922 when they can't go to these places anyway...

Briggs unfortunately for him is a one dimensional player. You've got to be a sh!t hot finger spinner to get a place in a test side these days without any batting talent.

As for Borthwick, I believe I also 'noted' the lad rather than giving him the kudos of any 'lever pick of 2011' award.

Dellos dissing of Pot Noodle is abysmal forumming.

Well, obviously they're considered fine-dining in Scotchland. In a similar way to living to 40 being considered a long innings.

No Lever pick, just mentioned every time he sneezed.

I tend to agree, in essence, dependant on the flavour.

Can you deep-fry a Pot Noodle? Would you bother taking it out of the plastic cup first, or is that like a crispy, chemical-y garnish?

Don't say it hasn't been tried in soon-to-be-adrift-from-the-UK-and-the-developed-world-land. It has. And it probably has a name. Aye-Ochity, or something.

I think I'll change my hypothetical last meal from a mixed grill, champers and hot fudge sundae to this!

I remember him getting snotted by Jimmy Foster for 5 sixes in an over.

He's not the new Warney, but he's got good character I think.
