Every major politician is an assassination target.

Immy has been appropriately respectful to Al Quaeda thus far; he should be OK.

Is it really worth the risk being a high profile Pakistani Prime Minister? He could be making a very nice living travelling to exotic locations around the World commentating on cricket.

Is the PPP so unpopular nowadays? Also, can he usurp the PML N in Punjab?

Re: How would the world see Imran Khan as the PAKprime minister
PPP is quite unpopular(i think).
Imran has had some huge jalsas in Lahore, Islamabad and now Karachi. Javed Hashmi(key memeber of PML N) along with several other heavyweights have joined Imran's party.

Just read in the Dawn that he wasn't chosen for the leader of opposition because he may have been too "combative" for the role. Is this true? If so, it seems a bit dodgy considering past ignoring by Sharif.
Also, what's the maximum number of constituencies that a single person can comtest in?

Re: How would the world see Imran Khan as the PAKprime minister
It says that Hashmi contested in 4 seats and won 3. The one he lost was to Shah Mahmood Qureshi, who ironically fell out with the PPP earlier this year.
Hashmi also voted against the party line in the 18th amendment, which was to remove the limit on the PM terms among other changes in 2010, so it's not like his resignation is unfounded.

Yes, I remember that. His arrival into the PTI was huge news here considering his portfolio as external affairs minister.

Imran's policies against terrorism are very good and consistent, unfortunately some less than intelligent folks considered him a dangerous fundamentalist but now even Joe Biden has come out and agreed with Imran.
Coincidentally the rate of suicide bombings has also significantly gone down in recent months(fingers crossed).
