Re: Aus Federal Politics thread (IV)
This is what siding with those dirty socialists does to you!
A DAY after stepping out in formal robes, new speaker Peter Slipper has announced he will embark on a weekly procession through Parliament House to slip into his chair, so that more visitors can see his parade.
The former Liberal MP announced his plans to introduce a new parade through parliament house – an approach usually reserved for formal occasions - via a statement from his office.
It comes in a week that Mr Slipper chose to upload videos of himself to YouTube, and took to Twitter, urging followers to “stay tuned”.
Traditionally at the start of each sitting day, a lowkey procession forms in the Speaker’s walkway, entering the House of Representatives chamber from the rear door.
Mr Slipper’s statement noted that the current approach “is not accessible to the many visitors to our parliament”.
Beginning next week, on sitting Tuesdays, Mr Slipper will instead adopt the grand entry process usually reserved for formal occasions, entering the chamber from the front door instead of the back, and marching through public areas of the Parliament.
“From next week, the procession on Tuesdays will commence in the Members’ Hall and move through the glazed link-way, entering the front of the chamber via the front doors,” the statement said.
“After announcing the Speaker as usual, the Sergeant-at-Arms will precede the Speaker into the chamber, before placing the Mace at the end of the table.
“The Speaker will take the chair via the Government side of the table.”

WGAF? Julia still got what she wanted. If he wants to carry on like a knob until his demise in 18 months, it's a free country.

Gold from the Vulture today. Claimed the Libs were muck-raking and resorting to disgusting tactics when asking her to explain the Australia Day restaurant fiasco created by her staff and that fat, loud-mouthed ACTU cow. PMSL.

Re: Aus Federal Politics thread (IV)
The Vulture copping a bashing from all angles today. Seems her advisors farked up big time by agreeing that she should do the 4 Corners interview. She looks a wooden, uncomfortable dead weight.
What's the big deal with saying "yeah, I knew about my victory speech being written in the weeks leading up to my coup"? She just looks like a clown (well, she always looks like Ronald McDonald) by trying to denying anything about the speech. Does she think we don't know that the pinkos are master knife-wielders and are always plotting overthrows? Credibility = 0
And in other news, it seems JGK's small-dicked Tories are making some noise.
"Labor's two-party-preferred vote has fallen and it now trails the Coalition 45-55 in today's Newspoll. Mr Abbott has moved ahead of Ms Gillard and leads as better prime minister, 40-37."

To think - the Libs could guarantee power now if they elect Turnbull as their leader. Yet they keep Abbott which keeps the ALP in power and keeps the prospect of an ALP win in the next election alive.

Yup, agree 100% on that, JGK. Now that the Carbon Tax is L.A.W. Law, the impediment to Turnbull taking over is gone.

Actually as wierd as it sounds (and disastrous), managed right the ALP could win the next election with Kruddy. The girl Newman is up against got a five point bump after he campaigned for her.
They wouldn't lose any seats in QLD and would probably pick up a few in Mexicoland.

Aye, qmy. On radio today, lots of commentators where saying that Krudd is savvy enough to learn and grow from the experience of the knifing. He still has significant appeal to the electorate despite the various debacles that unfolded under his leadership.
I guess us Blueys have to hope the Vulture stubbornly hangs on to the top job into the next election.

I just hope she holds on to it long enough to limit the damage and give Krudwit not long enough to implode. My Mum would be turning over in her grave but I think Turnbull could be the best PM we never had.
