PARANOIA - Is it what it used to be?

Post by PeterCS on Fri 28 Jan 2011, 05:34

Most days these days this place seems relatively sane.

Well?

Anyone agree? Eh, eh?? Lol Shocked

You say that like it's a bad thing.

I was surprised to come back and find a reasonably well-gelled unit of solid posters. Maybe my absence was the factor, maybe my sh!tty, inflammatory style of posting subliminally wound a lot of people up into a bilious frenzy.

Maybe my glib facetiousness was in fact little mind needles jabbing into the very psyche of people, resonating, only to explode at an undisclosed later period like some ejaculation of hot, sh!tty textual magma.

Oh well.

I'm no doubts here to stay, all the same.

Maybe Bas, and thank you for the reassurance. Wink

But maybe they just tired of me, like some off-colour old TV. Maybe my unkempt, dishevelled, rabid nature just ground them down, day-by-day, post-by-post in a passive-agressive, neck-twitching, "Da dum dum day .... .... arf, yip yip".

But damn it's good to be back, this place is pretty funny, some of the wit is quality. At least I'm talking to real cricket fans again, I've been talking to Gazza-style equivalents for the last 9-10 months, apart from my dad, like.

Actually at the time you left I thought the forum was on its last legs, was starting to get very boring and I've been pleasantly surprised it's made it to the Ashes.... we lost too many solid posters around that time.

But we seem to be ticking along nicely without being that busy. Sort of like C4 a year or so before its demise...

I'm just reading a few old threads, the US election thread in particular and yes, this place is ridiculously serene compared to those days.

I rarely got involved but my god, the old shitfests were funny. Still can't believe I missed the election thread, I better get back to it.

Yeah, I was thinking that the other day. All the old battlelines seem to have disappeared.

I've even stopped being a necro-nazi these days. There's something definately wrong if I'm not shouting at lards for necroing.

I'm a bit worried though; you've started bumping old threads yourself, even if it was by PM ...

Never! I sent the PM to Danny so he could look over it, it was Lever who bumped it unbeknownst to me.
