BBC 606 closing down
With cuts to the BBC's budget they're culling the 606 forum service so maybe this will be a chance to get some new blood into the place?
Sadly I think Blumpkin in a google search would get FB higher up google listings than 'cricket forum' - any spare 606 id's going - just before it closes might be worth a few gentle nudges in our direction.

Re: BBC 606 closing down
I don't use it but read occasionally. A few years ago all the Indians would be like...... 'Tendulkar ........ 4!!!!!' every other post - thats all match threads consisted of!
Meh.... maybe we're happy with the cliquey atmosphere of the place.

I had a look, they've already started another forum! You're still all 'fresh' to me, I've hardly been back long, probably not got the mouth-dribbling hankering you lot have for new blood.... But I suppose new meat's always good. Hopefully there'll be some qunt I can have a shitfest with.

Re: BBC 606 closing down
Well, after 45 pages I get this message:
"In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 447 already displayed.
If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included."
I should stop but I've started now and feel I have to find it....

Right, after another 39 pages I get this message:
"In order to show you the most relevant results, we have omitted some entries very similar to the 390 already displayed.
If you like, you can repeat the search with the omitted results included."
And then after repeating the search again with the omitted results included, we are the second entry.
I think google is blocking us for some reason, other than PakPassion I would guess that we are one of the most active cricket forums.
Anyone know how to get google to stop omitting us from the first couple of searches? If you do then perhaps you could give a nudge to fromage, it's a shame that no one will ever find this place just because google is being a tit considering how active we are.

I tried to log on to 606, but they don't like my log in details - so fluck 'em. If anyone else wants to give it a go - give FB the big sell!

Maybe you typed in "6" in the middle by mistake.
And you are not deemed ready for his Satanic Majuscule.

Crap forum but just shows the continuing decline of the BBC Sport website, they're gradually reducing it to an information-only service and I suspect even that will be cut back to the bare bones once all the newspaper sites have gone pay-per-view.

Very reminiscent of the ABC sport site. The only public forums they have now are Tech & Science boards.

I may be wrong but don't the forum owners have to apply to be listed on Google? i.e. you send them a description of the site along with several search key words etc.
