Australia vs England, 3rd Test, Perth, Dec 16-20, 2010

Post by Blackadder on Thu 09 Dec 2010, 17:44

Cricket Australia's NSP has named a 12-man squad for the 3rd Ashes Test starting at the WACA next Thursday. Phillip Hughes comes in for the injured Simon Katich, Marcus North has been replaced by Steven Smith and Mitchell Johnson and Ben Hilenhaus have also returned. The surprise inclusion is Michael Beer while Doug Bollenger and Xavier Doherty have both been left out.

The NSP nailing their colours to the mast. Stick with the young guys picked as much as possible now.

Indeed Zat, good to see Smith and Beer get included in the squad
Bit surprised Hauritz didn't get a recall after a Michelle vs the Wozzies @ WACA but hopefully they stick with the youth.

All they have to do now is pick YT instead of Bingle's former Dingle, and name him as FEC...

I'm thinking of blokes who could skipper the side. YT has that in spades. Could Australia seriously have a bloke who learned captaincy by watching Ponting in charge?

Also Haurie took 3-62 off 20 in the Barrels 2nd dig while Smith bought 4 for 112 off 26. It's a gutsy play.

Not quite sure why Nikki seems to have had his file marked NTPTFA.

But is Cameron White one of the best six batsmen in Australia?

YT lead a successful u19 WC campaign, Clarke's team failed in the semis.

No farquin way. I'd certainly have him as skipper of the JAMODI and JAMMITT sides though.

Yes.

How many other batsmen have scored centuries against England this tour?

Hopefully Beer plays more like James Squire or James Boag and less like VB or XXXX.
